The present invention relates to a recording medium, and more specifically to a recording medium for use in ink-jet printers, that is, a recording medium onto which ink droplets are jetted through fine orifices as a print head which are arranged in an array, the ink droplets being directed toward a recording medium so as to adhere to the recording medium. Methods have been known so far to directly form images or letters onto recording media such as paper, electrocardiograms, phonograms, etc., and a method which has been frequently used is a system called "ink-jet printing system" wherein an ink, which is selected so as to adhere to a recording medium, is jetted from a fine orifice as an ink-jet head. As a recording method for use in this ink-jet printing system, a system in which ink droplets jetted through the fine orifices of the ink-jet head land on a recording medium has been known. For example, as a system, there is a system in which the paper is moved or the ink-jet head and paper are moved relative to each other so that the ink droplets jetted from the head land on the paper. In this case, the ink droplets jetted from the head fly above the paper and land on the paper. Accordingly, a very excellent image can be formed in many respects, for example, in that a sharp picture can be obtained, that the sharpness of the picture is extremely high, that the fixing is excellent, that the image is formed immediately after it is printed and the drying is rapid, that it is easy to make the color vivid, that a plurality of prints can be obtained from one recording medium, and that it is easy to make a color image. As the ink which is used for the ink-jet printing system, for example, an aqueous ink which contains an aqueous dye has been heretofore used. However, from the viewpoint of the preservation stability of the aqueous ink, its dispersion stability and the like, it is difficult to completely prevent the aggregation and/or coagulation of the ink. As a result, it has been difficult to put it into practical use, and moreover, the preservation stability has been inferior.
